- Kenya and Tazania Combined Camping Safaris James Muchina asked: An Ideal itinerary for a vacation in East Africa after an all year’s hard work. Takes you to breath taking sites as you get the true African jungle experience taking you through the unpertabed flora and fauna. This is a safari that promises the best of Kenya and Tanzania’s premier parks. Visit the small but rewarding Lake Nakuru National park thereafter proceeding towards Masai Mara (Kenya’s most celebrated game park).
- Post-Walt Disney World catch-up Well, we’re home. The flight back was uneventful in the extreme. Alas, Margie was coughing and hacking last night, and we ended up swinging by the clinic on the way home after we landed, to discover that, yes, she had acquired a case of strep throat somewhere along the way. She got her penicillin shot, and will hopefully be well enough soon enough to make her trip out to California with Katherine by Tuesday. The house is intact. Indy was elated (and very vocal) to see us, largely because it meant he got to go out.
- Safari Part Three So we headed off on our first safari in Masai Mara. Right away we spotted more Thompson's gazelles, they were everywhere. Then we spotted buzzards in a tree, hyenas, hippos, wart hogs, topis , and more. Then over the radio came an excited voice crying " SIMBA !" So we raced across the Savannah to the place where the lions had been spotted ( Simba is swahili for Lion). As we neared the area where the lions had been spotted I saw something large and white in the grass, at first I thought it was a carcass because it was so still.
- Lake Nakuru National Park After leaving Aberdare National Park, we headed to Lake Nakuru for lunch and then for a game drive. After lunch, we added two more people to our tour - a very nice couple from England. They joined us for the next two days. They seemed to be our lucky charm. We started out the drive and almost immediately saw a mother lioness. Looking around, we could see her cubs on the hillside. She called them, and they promptly fell in line behind her. She led them right to their lunch.
