Central Serengeti, TanzaniaOpened in 2005, the Mbuzi Mawe Tented Lodge is a luxury permanent camp in the middle of the Serengeti on one of the main annual migration routes. It only contains 16 rooms under traditional canvas, and amenities are limited, but the camp setting is pristine; surrounded by towering rock kopjes, acacia trees and stone paths.
Mbuzi Mawe Tented Lodge does not have any resident guides of their own, so you must be accompanied by a guide for game drives. When the annual migration is not happening, game viewing can be somewhat limited, as there are few roads around the lodge and the main predatory activity is farther away.
