Ngorongoro Farm House
Lake Manyara, TanzaniaNgorongoro Farm House is an exclusive lodge with views of the Oldeani Volcano, in Ololdukan, situated on a 500 plus acre coffee farm only 4 kilometers from the Lolduare Gate at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It was once the home and coffee plantation of a German settler in the 19th century, and this beautifully renovated property has three camps of 40 spacious cottages decorated and built in the old colonial style. You'll sleep under a thatched roof in a large airy bedroom tastefully decorated with handmade wooden furniture, hand-woven rugs, polished floors, and an en-suite bathroom and veranda. The main farmhouse has a bar, library, restaurant, and lounge, all perfect for relaxing after a busy day out. The food is delicious and uses lots of organic vegetables and herbs from the farm's own gardens. The lodge is still a fully functional farm – they grow their own wheat and the organic garden produces a lot of the vegetables used in the food. The farm is also home to cows, pigs and sheep. Excursions include trips to the crater and conservation area as well as face-to-face encounters with local communities (not included in the quoted price).
