Tarangire National Park, TanzaniaThe Tarangire Sopa Lodge is situated in the Tarangire National Park and lies 118 km south west of Arusha, which is approximately a 2 hour drive from Arusha. The lodge is hidden among the kopjes, and is surrounded by the ancient baobab trees. It is the home of the greatest concentration of elephants in Africa, the elusive leopard, over 400 bird species and a plethora of hyrax.With water constantly available in the area, the greenery is lush providing a wonderful contrast to the burnt ground. Reports from travelers indicate this isn't the best Sopa Lodge in Africa, but it meets expectations. It has 75 suites and was constructed in 1995.
