Olduvai Tented Lodge

South Serengeti, Tanzania

In between Ngorogoro Crater and Ndutu, likes the Olduvia Gorge, often refereed to as “The Cradle of Mankind". Louis and Mary Leaky began excavations in the Gorge in the 1950’s, unearthing some of the oldest tools and human remains ever found.

Olduvai camp offers basic accommodations, with tents on concrete platforms and thatched roof. Twin beds, chemical toilet and canvas shower round out the amenities. While very basic, the camp is a great location, run by the local Maasai and serves excellent food.
